In June 2020, Asia Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) held their inaugural conference online. The annual conference is the largest convening in Asia that gathers funders and resource providers from across the world to share knowledge, build strategic partnerships, and address socio-economic challenges at scale. The AVPN Constellations Award highlights the ways in which AVPN members are ‘addressing the complex problems of our times with stellar interconnected solutions, leveraging the power of networks for greater impact’.
For this year, APC is happy to announce that two APC projects, INSPIRASI and the Thousand Days Fund were selected as winners. Do check out each project’s details and their feature video!
Inisiatif Kepemimpinan Pendidikan untuk Raih Prestasi (INSPIRASI)
Launched in July 2019, INSPIRASI is an adaptation of a proven school leadership development model that runs a professional development programme for school leaders to demonstrate that good leadership is key to improving student learning. By working with philanthropists, corporates and government, 25 principals, and their vice principals, of medium to low performing schools were part of the 2019 pilot group. Another 50 schools will be added in 2020.
The Thousand Days Fund (TDF)
Launched as a 5-year programme, APC members set up APC’s Thousand Days Fund, which together with the Power of Nutrition, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Australia and with the support of Save the Children and Nutrition International, have designed and implemented the project titled ‘Better Investment for Stunting Alleviation’ (BISA). The project aims to assist the Government of Indonesia to realise their stunting reduction goals by effectively implementing nutrition policies and utilising government funding. BISA hopes to improve sanitation access and practices at provincial, district and village levels, with the goal of scaling nationally to bring down the stunting rates of Indonesia.
