BY ESTHER CHANG, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The start of 2026 has been both energising and grounding for our community. Across our engagements, I have been encouraged not only by the level of activity, but by the depth of reflection and connection taking shape among members.
This year, we welcomed the launch of two new collectives, the Climate & Communities Collective (CCC) and the Philanthropy Impact Collective (PIC). These platforms are already bringing members together in meaningful ways, creating space to exchange perspectives, build alignment, and explore where collaboration can drive greater impact.
At the same time, our recent Next Gen convenings have centred on the “inner work” of philanthropy. Through conversations on personal values, motivations, and leadership, including a dialogue with Jacqueline Novogratz on moral courage, members reflected on what it means to act with conviction in an increasingly complex world.
These reflections feel particularly timely. The challenges we face today are deeply interconnected, with ripple effects that transcend borders and sectors. Responding to them will require more than strategy alone. It calls for grounded, values-driven leadership, and a willingness to work collectively in ways that match the scale and urgency of the issues before us.
At APC, this remains core to our purpose. With our Call for Collaboration, we hope to create more intentional pathways for members to come together, exchange ideas, and catalyse action. We see our role as a platform for connection, where collaboration can begin and take shape, and we invite you to share where you see opportunities to work together. If you have ideas or would like to explore potential collaborations, please reach out to the APC team here.
Thank you for being part of this community, and for the openness and commitment you bring to it. We look forward to what we will continue to build together.
