Inspiring lives through stories of everyday heroes

Inspiring lives through stories of everyday heroes

BY CINDY HSIAO

Who comes to mind when you think of the word hero? Was it superhero figures from movies? Or was it the healthcare workers serving on the frontlines of COVID-19? Or perhaps it’s someone closer to home – a family member or a friend who inspires you with their courage and the selfless way they serve others?

More often than not, heroes are closer to us than we think.

APC member, Lionel Li’s Li Foundation is therefore on a mission to share extraordinary stories of everyday heroes through their Inspiring Lives Impacting Asia short film series, in hopes of providing all of us with a much-needed source of inspiration, hope and encouragement during these particularly challenging times.

The short-film series will launch with the remarkable story of Singapore’s own blade runner, Shariff Abdullah, a phenomenal story about a man who has beaten the odds time after time to accomplish 29 marathons, with just one leg.

At a time when the world is filled with immense loss and uncertainties, this series could not have come at a better time. Li Foundation hopes this short-film series will also inspire others – young people, philanthropists, and perhaps you, from all across Asia to join them in capturing and sharing more much-needed good news stories.
